Society is the poison preventing people from recognizing and accepting sexual liberation. When Rome was a "utopia," men had romantic relations with other men. In fact, some Roman generals felt that only a man could love another man. They didn't see homosexuality as weird or unmanly. They saw it as correct and fitting.
